The Family Romance

For many years, Eli Mandel acted the role of cultural mediator, aware of what was happening in sophisticated literary theory, but constantly locating this criticism in a wide range of Canadian texts. The diversity of lectures, reviews and essays in The Family Romance spans literary theory, cultural criticism, and analyses of particular writers. Mandel also examines individual writers such as Gary Geddes, Leonard Cohen, P.K. Page, Frank Davey, Margaret Atwood and John Glassco.
