David Waltner-Toews is a Canadian essayist, poet, fiction writer and veterinarian. A professor at the University of Guelph, he is the founding president of Veterinarians without Borders and founding president of the Network for Ecosystem Sustainability and Health. Waltner-Toews has published a half-dozen books of poetry including Endangered Species (Turnstone Press).In 2011 he collaborated with artist Diane Maclean, contributing a poem to her exhibition.
