Winnipeg artist and designer, Robert J. Sweeney, captures Winnipeg’s urban landscape in this remarkable ­collection of sketches, Portraits of Winnipeg: The River City in Pen and Ink. Each portrait brings to life in brilliant colour, the many faces of Manitoba’s “River City.”

Robert J. Sweeney is an award-winning building and industrial designer who has practised in both Europe and North America. Having studied art and design, he has worked as an industrial design consultant in England, and has won awards for industrial and environmental design. He has previously collaborated with author Murray Peterson on two volumes of Winnipeg Landmarks (Watson & Dwyer) featuring his sketches of famous Winnipeg buildings. He lives in Winnipeg.
