Turnstone earns Seven Nominations at Manitoba Book Awards

TURNSTONE AUTHORS EARN SEVEN MANITOBA BOOK AWARDS

Winnipeg, March 23, 2017—Turnstone Press congratulates all of our authors shortlisted for this year’s Manitoba Book Awards.

No Escape from Greatness by Jeffrey John Eyamie picked up two nominations, the Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book and the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer. Two of our spring poetry collections, Gloryland by Carla Funk and departures by Dennis Cooley, were nominated for the Mary Scorer Award for Best Book by a Manitoba Publisher, and departures was also nominated for the Lansdowne Prize for Poetry. Larry Verstraete's 'Dinosaurs' of the Deep was nominated for a Manuela Dias Book Design and Illustration Award in the Children's Illustration Category and Ravenstone title The Bootlegger's Confession by Allan Levine was shortlisted for the Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award.

We would like to extend congratulations to all nominees for the well-deserved recognition of their work.

The Manitoba Book Awards gala will take place Saturday, April 22, at The Fort Garry Hotel.
