An Unexpected Break in the Weather

After 73-year-old Mildred falls and breaks her hip, she and her long-time partner, Gertrude, fear they must face the inevitable: the closing of their bridal shop, A Rose on Corydon. Wanting to give the store a proper send-off, they decide to throw one last wedding, a lavish ceremony right in the store, for their good friend, and serial bride, Perfume.

Convincing the bridal party to only wear clothing from their women’s shop, even the men wear chiffon and lace to celebrate in full. But when close friend and bridesmaid Wordie is diagnosed with cancer, it becomes a question of whether the final party will be a wedding or an outrageous funeral.
