Catherine Hunter’s seven books include the thriller The Dead of Midnight (nominated for Manitoba Reads), the poetry collection Latent Heat (Winner of the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award in 1998) and, most recently, the crime novel Queen of Diamonds. She is a professor of English at the University of Winnipeg.
In The Dead of Midnight, members of the book club at the Mystery Au Lait Café in Winnipeg are getting nervous as events from their favourite mysteries start to come true – in their own neighbourhood of Wolseley. When Sarah Petursson returns to Lake of the Woods alone, her neighbours hope the curse of the Midnight Mysteries doesn’t follow her.
