A night spent in a roadside motel, a Roman arena discovered in southeastern Manitoba, and a pair of small but observant figurines fill this anthology of Canadian and American writers from the prairies. Beyond Borders includes the works of well-known literary names like Carol Shields, Di Brandt, David Arnason, and Robert Kroetsch.
Writers from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Minnesota and the Dakotas have come together to celebrate our identities and individuality in a collection of 100 short stories and poems.
Beyond Borders is the culmination of a series of ongoing meetings and exchanges between a group of Canadian and U.S. writers from the plains and prairies of mid-continent. While it is marked by a common ground of cooperation and mutual understanding, it is also representative - in poetry, fiction and non-fiction - of the range and diversity of these individual voices, and the belief that in writing all borders are meant to be crossed.
The collection includes the works of well-known literary names like Carol Shields, Di Brandt, David Arnason, and Robert Kroetsch.
